Affiliate Disclosure
How we handle affiliate relationships and compensated links — and what never changes about our editorial judgment.
Summary
Some links on LoudDemand may be affiliate or otherwise compensated referral links. If you purchase, subscribe, or start a trial through those links, we may earn a commission or referral fee at no additional cost to you. Compensation never means we invent product claims, sell rankings, or hide commercial relationships.
This page explains when affiliate links appear, how we disclose them, and the rules that protect editorial independence. Related standards:editorial policy andsponsorship policy.
Where affiliate links may appear
Affiliate or referral links may appear on, among other places:
- Tool reviews, comparisons, and category guides
- Resource and checklist pages that recommend software or services
- Articles that link to products as part of a practical workflow
Not every tool page has affiliate links. Pages that do should say so in a clear disclosure near the relevant links or in a dedicated note. Frontmatter flags (for example, affiliateLinksPresent) support consistency; visible disclosure remains the reader’s primary signal.
How we disclose
- On-page language when compensated links are present — plain English, not buried in fine print alone
- Compensated outbound links use appropriate
relattributes (for examplenofollow, sponsored, and/ornoopener) where applicable - Site-wide policies linked from the footer and related tool surfaces so operators can verify our rules
Sponsorship and paid placements are a separate category. Sponsored units are labeled “Sponsored,” “Partner,” or equally clear language and follow thesponsorship policy. Affiliate disclosure is not a substitute for sponsor labeling, and sponsor labeling is not a substitute for affiliate disclosure.
Editorial rules
Affiliate programs do not buy conclusions. In practice:
- We do not recommend a tool solely because an affiliate program exists
- We do not omit a better-fit tool solely because no program exists
- Editorial verdicts, scores, and ranking language are not for sale
- Brand review rights, when granted, are limited to factual product corrections — not approval of the verdict
- Claims must still meet our editorial policy on sources, authorship, and honesty
If a commercial relationship would prevent fair evaluation, we disclose, recuse, or decline the piece.
What “no additional cost to you” means
Standard affiliate programs pay the publisher a commission while the buyer pays the same public price (or the same trial terms) as a direct visit. We do not control partner pricing, promotions, or terms of service. Always verify current pricing and contract language with the vendor.
Cookies, tracking, and third parties
Clicking an affiliate link may set cookies or pass referral parameters so the merchant can attribute the visit. Those practices are governed by the merchant’s privacy and cookie policies as well as our own privacy policy for how LoudDemand handles data on this site.
Relationship to LoudScale
LoudDemand and LoudScale are related. LoudDemand is the editorial publication; LoudScale delivers audits, strategy, implementation, and managed demand-generation programs.
Links or CTAs related to LoudScale services are commercial relationships of a different kind: they should be labeled clearly and are not “affiliate tool links.” Editorial independence still applies; service promotion does not rewrite reviews of third-party tools.
Reader checklist
Before acting on a tool recommendation, operators should:
- Read the disclosure on that page and note the evaluation date or update note
- Check fit criteria against their stack, budget, and team size
- Validate pricing, security, and data-processing terms with the vendor
- Treat affiliate links as a funding mechanism for the desk, not as proof of product quality
